ON THE FIELD

Dash Hoy is the 2026 starting quarterback for a Central Ohio program that won a state championship the same season he joined it. AT 6'3", 205 pounds, with a 4.3-second 40 clocked across camps at Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Ohio State, and Virginia Tech, he brings a rare combination of size and pure speed to the position. His first Division I scholarship offer, from Miami University (Ohio), arrived in October of his junior season, and a 3.2 GPA (at a rigorous college prep school) backs up his on-field profile.

BACKGROUND & DEVELOPMENT

Dash was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and moved to Columbus, Ohio with his family in 2018 when his father took a position as a strength and conditioning coach for Ohio State's athletic department, helping lead a Big Ten championship team during his time there. His father's own family owns and operates a farm in central Pennsylvania - the kind of early-morning, physical work that shaped his approach to training long before it showed up in a stat line. His mother's family is from the Dominican Republic, tiwth Taino roots; she was the first in her family born in the United States.

Dash has trained and currently trains with Brad Maendler of QB Excelerate (since October 2025) - the same private quarterback coach who developed Pittsburgh Steelers QB Drew Allar (Penn State), Virginia Tech's Ethan Grunkemeyer, Pitt's Mason Heintschel, and many other elite high school and college quarterbacks. In under a year, Maendler has rebuilt Dash's throwing mechanics, making the ball come out of his hand faster and more efficiently, with noticeably tighter accuracy on target. At school, his staff includes Steve Bellisari, Ohio State's starting quarterback from 1999 to 2001 (and a 2002 NFL draft pick), and Greg Bellisari, a three-year Ohio State starting linebacker and Big Ten champion, who played several seasons in the NFL.
